Portland's Heavy Vehicle Surcharge - Help OTA Find an Equitable Solution

This past May the Portland City Council approved a Heavy Vehicle Surcharge and Portland voters approved a gas tax increase. When the City Council approved the surcharge, it was designed to raise a proportionate level of annual funding to the impact that heavy trucks have on the Portland city streets.

We have been meeting with counsel to assess our options at this point.  Along those lines, we are inviting you to a meeting at OTA on December 8th at 2:00 pm to meet with our attorney. He will present our legal options, as well as be available to answer your questions.  Remember, even if you have not filed a Business License Tax return with Portland, if you pick up or deliver inside their city limits you are subject to this tax.
