Multnomah County is planning to construct a number of safety improvements this summer on its section of NW Cornelius Pass Road between Highway 30 and Washington County. The road has a long history of serious crashes, including truck rollovers on several sharp curves. The project will realign several of the curves and improve sightlines and shoulders at multiple locations.
Unfortunately, the road will need to be closed to through traffic for up to 13 weeks starting in early July. Freight users will be the most impacted, because there are no nearby freight routes over the west hills. Learn what detours are recommended for freight, including trucks carrying hazardous loads, and how the completed project will improve safety for freight and other modes. Mike Pullen from Multnomah County will present the briefing. For project information, visit: www.multco.us/cornpass.
